Guess What? Monetising Your Blog is Easier Than You Think…

Think making money from your blog is like climbing Everest? Think again.

With affiliate marketing, you can transform your Squarespace blog into a revenue powerhouse.

And the best part?

It’s simpler than you ever imagined. And it doesn’t have to be cheesy…

So, for all you wonderful Squarespace website owners out there, let’s see how you can do this with style and integrity.

What’s the Deal with Affiliate Marketing?

Affiliate marketing is like being a matchmaker.

You connect your readers with products or services they'll love, and for every successful introduction (i.e., sale), you earn a commission.

It's easy, and also - a win-win.

But how do you do this without sounding like a pushy salesperson? Here’s the secret: just be honest.

Example 1: Be a Coach with a Plan

Imagine you’re a life coach. Your readers trust you for guidance, not for sales pitches.

You give good advice. You have a great relationship with your clients and readers.

Here's how you can weave affiliate marketing into your content seamlessly (plus - because you’ve chosen quality products that your clients and readers will love - you’re increasing the flow of love in the universe too) :

  • Recommended Reading: Write a post about your favourite self-help books. Include affiliate links to Amazon or another book retailer. Share why these books helped you and how they can help your readers.

  • Tools of the Trade: Talk about the tools you use for productivity and planning. Maybe it’s a specific brand of planner or a meditation app. Link to these tools with affiliate codes.

Example 2: Copywriters Do It With Words

As a copywriter, you’re all about words. And for word nerds, being is a copywriter isn’t just a gig. It’s fun.

Your readers look to you for advice on writing, marketing, and creativity.

Here’s how you can have just a bit more fun if that’s even possible - and monetise at the same time:

  • Writing Courses: Share a list of online writing courses that boosted your skills. Include your affiliate links. Explain how each course improved your craft.

  • Software and Resources: Recommend the software you use for writing and editing. Think Grammarly, TextCortex, or Canva. Be cool, and make sure you actually use the products… And then you can include affiliate links and real-life examples of how these tools make your work easier. Don’t forget to let your readers know the article contains affiliate links too.

Remember, it’s about adding value, reaching out, and cultivating relationships. That’s modern marketing. It’s rather lovely.

You become like a cat who knows where all the cream is and is happy to give directions...

Small Business Owners, This One’s for You

Running a small business?

Your blog is a little goldmine waiting to happen. Here’s how to turn your passion into profit:

  • Product Reviews: Review products honestly. Choose stuff that aligns with your business. So, for example, if you sell handmade crafts, review the best crafting supplies or tools. Include affiliate links to these products.

  • Business Services: Share the services that help your business thrive. It could be a web hosting service, accounting software, or a courier service. Include affiliate links and explain how these services benefit your business.

Your readers are likely small business owners themselves.

So once again, everyone’s a winner and all the cats get the cream… because there’s lots of cream.

Keep It Real, Keep It Stylish

The key to successful affiliate marketing is authenticity.

Be genuine about what you recommend.

Share personal stories and real-life benefits.

Your readers will appreciate the honesty and be more inclined to trust your links.

For example - I totally love Canva. I mean it’s a love that is true. And I said that without an affiliate link. I just wanted to share. Later on, if I become an affiliate - I’ll let you all know.

That’s the key.

Don’t forget to disclose any affiliate links to your readers in plain language so there’s no misunderstanding.

Open-heartedness and honesy is your friend.

Build trust, appreciate the trust others have in you, and be cool.

There we have it.

It’s worth a try because, as you can see, monetising your Squarespace blog isn’t rocket surgery.

With affiliate marketing, you can turn your passion into profit without compromising your style or integrity.

Be authentic, provide value, and watch your revenue grow.
